A new luxurious Aperityvo-style bar opens in Vilnius
2025 03 06The five-star Radisson Collection Astorija hotel in Vilnius Old Town is preparing for another new phase – at the end of March, a luxurious Aperitivo-style bar will open its doors, inviting both Vilnius residents and city guests to enjoy not only an elegant atmosphere but also indulge in exclusive drinks during the day and evening.
A new bar inspired by Southern European traditions will become the face of the hotel
Lithuanians traveling in Southern Europe and visitors to the city are well acquainted with the aperitivo culture. Therefore, the new bar concept will be designed to make guests feel like they have stepped into a bar for friends – a place where they will want to relax with a cocktail after work, before an event, or simply enjoy the views of the Old Town in the heart of the city while sipping a morning cup of coffee while waiting for a meeting.
The owner of the hotel, where the new bar will soon open, Marius Jakulis Jason, states that Radisson Collection Astorija is constantly growing and evolving: “The guest is always the most important, so by investing in hotel spaces and their renewal, we strive for an even higher level of service and comfort. I believe that the new bar will become not only a key part of the hotel but also an attraction for the entire city,” shares the businessman.
The new bar will be the true face of Radisson Collection Astorija. It will not only be a place for gourmet aperitifs but also a social hub for the city, inviting people to drop by and spend time enjoying the best cocktails and snacks. The goal is to break the long-standing perception that hotel bars or restaurants are only for hotel guests. This bar is meant for any Vilnius resident or city guest who wants to enjoy a warm drink during the day or refresh themselves with a unique aperitif in the evening.
“We plan to host various events in the new bar space for both hotel and city guests. We also hope that the bar will become an ideal place for business meetings and gatherings with family and friends – a place where every guest can enjoy drinks, snacks, top-quality service, comfortable and stylish furniture, and, through the large veranda windows of the bar, admire the exceptional views of Vilnius Old Town,” says the hotel’s general manager Laura Vaitukaitienė.
The bar’s interior design hints at the hotel’s historical past
The new bar’s interior is being designed by the well-known architecture and design studio Yes.Design.Architecture, whose vision will seamlessly blend into the hotel’s renovated aesthetic. Along with the bar, the reception area is also being renovated to ensure that the hotel’s public spaces breathe a unified design.
“When designing Astorija’s bar and lobby area, our goal was to create a space that encourages communication, brings people together, and allows them to spend time comfortably. The central, accessible-from-all-sides bar will be located in the veranda area – precisely where it was in the hotel’s historical years,” shares the team of architects.
The hotel will also introduce a brand-new lounge area, which it previously lacked. A massive, sectional sofa will provide guests with the opportunity to relax comfortably or settle in while waiting for check-in. The dark but subtly tinted interior will harmoniously integrate with the new Radisson Collection Astorija design, which combines mystique and intrigue.
“Our goal is not only to restore but also to enhance the historical spirit of the space by giving it modernity and functionality,” say the Yes.Design.Architecture designers working on the new bar project.
The official opening of the bar is planned for the end of March.
