DR. VET Klaipėda animal hospital opens its doors: modern equipment and top specialists under one roof

1 Asset Management has been investing into veterinary clinics since 2021. A new DR. VET Animal Hospital has opened at Taikos Ave. 62 in Klaipėda, offering a full range of essential healthcare services for pets. It is the third facility of its kind in Lithuania and the first in the port city, joining the country’s largest veterinary network, DR. VET.

According to Valdas Paulikas, head of the DR. VET Klaipėda Animal Hospital, pet owners can turn to the new facility for everything from routine vaccinations to urgent care when a pet becomes seriously ill or injured.

“Being an animal hospital means bringing together leading specialists from different fields and providing all the key veterinary services that dogs and cats may need under one roof. Our team includes dermatologists, cardiologists, dentists, traumatologists, an ophthalmologist, as well as highly skilled ultrasound and radiology experts. Opening a hospital that offers such comprehensive care marks a major step forward for veterinary services in Klaipėda,” says Mr. Paulikas.

The hospital is equipped with an intensive care incubator and oxygen chamber for its most vulnerable patients. It has also invested in advanced endoscopy equipment, a modern therapeutic laser, and state-of-the-art X-ray technology, allowing the team to expand its service offering even further.

“With our new endoscope, we can examine the urinary tract, ear canals, and nasal passages with minimal invasiveness, reaching areas that were previously difficult to access. The procedure is gentler, and recovery is much faster.

The laser allows us to treat chronic joint and spine pain, lameness, and supports faster wound healing. It is also effective for chronic skin and kidney conditions. In surgery, the laser enables extremely precise incisions, and the intervention typically takes just a few minutes,” explains Mr. Paulikas.

As part of the DR. VET network—which also includes the Lazdynai Animal Hospital in Vilnius and the Kaunas Animal Hospital—the Klaipėda hospital can easily consult or collaborate with leading specialists across the country.

“When we encounter particularly complex or rare diseases, severe trauma, or oncology cases, we can always draw on the expertise of colleagues in Vilnius or Kaunas. This is a tremendous benefit for our patients,” he adds.

Raising the Standard of Care in the Region

The new DR. VET Klaipėda Animal Hospital was designed to ensure not only the highest medical standards but also comfort for pets and their owners. Appointments can be made by phone or through a mobile app.

The waiting area is arranged to minimize stress for sensitive animals, and a spacious parking lot next to the hospital makes visits easier for owners with large, injured, or less mobile pets.

The hospital will also introduce specialized preventive care programs aimed at helping owners reduce long-term health expenses for their pets.

Special attention will be given to surgical services. The modern operating theatre is equipped to handle not only routine procedures, such as neutering, but also complex oncological surgeries.

“Our mission is to ensure that every pet, no matter how complex their condition, receives top-level veterinary care. This requires not only advanced technology but also a continually developing professional team, which is why we invest heavily in training both in Lithuania and abroad. Our aim is for this hospital to become a leading veterinary center and a vital support hub for pet owners across the Klaipėda region,” says Mr. Paulikas.
