Grand Hotel Vilnius continues its renewal: renovation phase of conference spaces completed
2026 02 02The first stage of the reconstruction of the luxurious five-star Grand Hotel Vilnius Curio Collection by Hilton has been completed – five conference spaces have been renovated, together accommodating more than 350 guests during conferences, events and celebrations. These upgrades are part of the hotel’s broader renovation programme, with a total value of EUR 10 million, scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
The hotel’s interior renewal was carried out in collaboration with the London-based architectural firm Vita Architecture, led by Lithuanian principal architect Rūta Benetytė.
In renovating the conference spaces, the design concept draws inspiration from the works of renowned Lithuanian artists M. K. Čiurlionis, A. Martinaitis and J. Rimša. This approach was chosen to preserve the building’s historical continuity, reflect Lithuanian cultural heritage and create a sense of distinction and refined luxury.
Each conference space features a unique interpretation of fragments from the artists’ works, ensuring that every space has its own identity and character, effectively telling its own story.
The five renovated conference spaces of varying sizes can host more than 350 guests in total. They are well suited for conferences, corporate and business events, as well as smaller-scale private gatherings. The hotel’s iconic location next to Cathedral Square makes it an ideal venue for welcoming high-level international and governmental guests.
According to hotel director Sigita Kreivenaitė-Rudzevičienė, Grand Hotel Vilnius is often the first impression of Lithuania for many visitors to the country. This brings significant responsibility, as the hotel aims to present and express the nation’s cultural identity. “We are a subtle and refined nation that values creativity, poetry and architecture. I am delighted that our team reflects this through their attention to detail and their genuine, thoughtful care for guests.”
Architect R. Benetytė noted that the decision to base the renovation of the conference spaces on the theme of Lithuanian artists was driven by the desire to reflect national culture as authentically as possible. The chosen stylistic direction highlights the hotel’s elegance and creates an atmosphere of refined luxury. “Through the selection of materials, we aimed to give each conference space a sense of naturalness: carpet patterns were designed to avoid repetition, wall finishes feature complex and subtle colour palettes, lighting is softly filtered, and brass elements are integrated into the interior. Historical archives show that this building was originally constructed as a hotel rather than adapted from residential or office use. Therefore, our architectural team worked to emphasise its original architectural character while seamlessly integrating contemporary design. We hope that guests attending events will feel like counts and countesses,” said the internationally recognised architect, who has been working abroad for more than two decades.
The hotel’s renovation is being financed by the 1AM Luxury Hotels sub-fund managed by 1 Asset Management. “The overall renovation programme, valued at more than EUR 10 million, includes conference spaces, guest rooms and the lobby. We are pleased with the completion of the conference space renovation and with seeing how the new design concept integrates organically into the historic interiors of Grand Hotel Vilnius. The aim of this renovation is to consistently enhance the hotel’s value and appeal to guests,” says Ieva Kuodė, a representative of 1 Asset Management.
