I Asset Management creates a new 125-million-euro fund

Investment management company I Asset Management is creating a new fund for the development of a private purpose-built student accommodation (“PBSA”) in Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltics. The new IAM CEE Student Housing Fund plans to raise 125 million euros to finance modern PBSA projects in 12 cities – the largest academic centers across Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic region.

“We plan much more intensive development than before – until 2025 we aim to build or acquire more than 4,000 rooms that could accommodate up to 5,000 students and young professionals. We are also changing the project management structure – so far, we were establishing a separate fund for each new PBSA project and now we plan to manage one fund from which we will finance all the projects. This will allow our investors to invest in a geographically diversified portfolio, and the size of the fund will be attractive to institutional investors as well”, says Matas Mockeliūnas, Partner at IAM CEE Student Housing Fund.

All student accommodation projects will be designed according to the highest energy efficiency standards focusing on latest sustainability trends making sure all the building are BREAAM-accredited. Much attention will be paid to social and cultural integration and well-being of the residents.
